Zip it up: Employees at the U.S. Post Office on North Third Street told police they finally caught the man who has been “urinating in the office for several years.” A caller said the man had been relieving himself inside the rear of the post office, but employees finally caught him in the act. They said the postmaster had followed the man, and when caught up to them in the 100 block of North Sixth Street he said he didn’t want to pursue charges at this time. He did want the man to be told that if he returns to the property he will face criminal charges.

Welcome wagon: The owner of a business in the 100 block of North Third Street was told she had to move her car, Thursday. Callers complained she was parked on the sidewalk, and when officers arrived the car was still there. The business owner told police she was moving into the storefront and was unloading tables and chairs from her vehicle.

Attention getter: Officers spotted a man in Hollywood Plaza Thursday and took him into custody on an outstanding warrant. Jeremy Ross, 34, 161 Montgomery Lane, Mingo Junction, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of failure to appear.

Focused: Police were asked to investigate a couple seen slouched over in a silver SUV Thursday outside Mr. Fuel, appearing unresponsive. The caller was concerned they were doing drugs. A store employee who knew them told police the two had been scratching off lottery tickets.

Art lover: A Welday Avenue resident told police her trimmer had been stolen Thursday. She said a man who’d cut her grass once before wanted to cut it again but she told him she didn’t have the money. He cut it anyway, and afterward she noticed her trimmer was missing and said a neighbor saw him leaving with it. She told police the man has tattoos of naked women tattoos across his chest.

Red flag: A suspicious package was found in the 200 block of South Fifth Street Thursday. It turned out to be an electronic candlestick in a candleholder, police said.

Booked: Jeremy Ross, 34, 161 Montgomery Lane, Mingo Junction, failure to appear, Thursday.

Booked: Justin Myers, 37, 79640 Lamborn Road, Cadiz, reckless operation, OVI, no operator’s license and DUI, Thursday; John Barry, 47, 300 N. Front St., Wheeling, two warrants for petit theft, Thursday.

Over and out: A deputy traveling west on state Route 213 spotted a vehicle over an embankment July 20, but no one was inside. He said it appeared to have gone off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and the driver over-corrected and the silver sedan went off the other side of the road, traveled through a ditch and over a sign, stopping when it hit a culvert. There was blood on the passenger side door. The deputy patrolled the area looking for someone on foot who might be injured, with no luck.

Risky ride: Deputies were notified a juvenile was riding a bicycle in the northbound lane of state Route 7 Wednesday. The boy, by then pushing the bike on state Route 213 toward Pleasant Hill, told them he’d been at Belleview Pool and his mom was supposed to pick him up at 6 p.m., but the pool closed and she wasn’t there to get him so he started walking. He said he got as far as the Family Dollar and a man gave him a bike and told him to keep it. His mother told deputies she had gone to pick her son up at 6 p.m. but he wasn’t there. She said she searched for him and even stopped to check with friends of his who lived in the area, with no luck. She figured he left early to meet with his friends, hence the reason he wasn’t there when she got there.

Booked: Samantha Bottegal, 35, 180 Nancy St., Steubenville, failure to appear, Friday.
